I was just wondering this last night before going to bed. Obviously any state with islands would be problematic (Alaska), any state composed ENTIRELY of islands (Hawaii), and any non-contiguous state (Michigan) would be out. My state of Oregon would be pretty cool for the coastline, but the straight California/Nevada border and then up the Snake River and down the Columbia are not great routes. My pick would be the great state of West Virginia:
West Virginia is noted for its mountains and diverse topography..
That's from the very first line on their official state website! Seems pretty perfect to me.
What state would you pick?

Ohio wouldn't be so bad

vWe've got a wicked back straight.

I see nothing wrong with considering the lower or upper peninsula of Michigan.

Washington wouldn't work either, but New Hampshire looks like it would be fairly entertaining.

*making racecar sounds are I follow the border lines*

Texas!

So, I don't think Michigan would make for a bad track, the lower peninsula has it all, long straights, hairpin turns and high speed corners. Especially if you smooth out the coast line a bit, like in this pic:

good DRS zones :]

This looks like VIR just as is...

VA.

Don't count out Michigan. We have this thing called a bridge that connects the two areas. Just use it as a cross over between the two track areas. The lower peninsula is the higher speed section, and the upper peninsula is the more technical section.

Colorado. America's NASCAR track.

Plenty of complicated corners and long straightaways with the Missouri border
![]() 04/01/2014 at 17:07 |

It would be the biggest and have the best track food :]
![]() 04/01/2014 at 17:09 |

IL, couple straights, some crazy turns mixed with long overarching high speed corners.

Florida or New York, definitely

Colorado. Four long straight-of-ways and four square corners.

Haha, Agreed.

That would be a hell of a hair pin turn up near Cawtawba Island. I suppose we could ignore the Bass & Kelly's Island as well, as a ferry ride over there would really slow up a race. But, the straights along the western portion of the state would allow some astonishing speeds.

The bottom of Louisiana wins!
![]() 04/01/2014 at 17:13 |

Louisiana. Lots of technical turns and some flat out straights. It would be difficult to master too. The curves on the coastline are always changing (eroding).
![]() 04/01/2014 at 17:14 |

better track food. Louisiana

Wyoming - the other NASCAR track
![]() 04/01/2014 at 17:20 |

Any of them would be good. Except Colorado. Colorado would suck.
![]() 04/01/2014 at 17:24 |

Yes, but you can't even get to the STATE CAPITAL by road.. much less the Aleutian islands

I nominate my home state of New Hampshire.

And lots of good fun to be had inside, too.

Winner.

Wyoming's corners are superior in every way.

Yah, until you miss the right hander and end up going straight through Michigan and up to Canada 'eh?
![]() 04/01/2014 at 20:51 |

No, you forgot the horrible road conditions in Michigan. You'd be much more likely to lose a wheel from a pothole and careen uncontrollably into a nearby tree. You'd never make into Canada. Lake Michigan, maybe, but never Canada.

I'm going to nominate Mass. A couple of long straights and a wicked hair pin turn around the Cape

There is one thing going for Ohio, in my opinion, I have found some amazing Back roads and side roads out here in the boonies. I live a county down from the boot, if that tells you how far from civilization I am. Haha.

Complete with a chicane!
![]() 04/02/2014 at 08:18 |

I vote California. HWY 1 is practically the western border anyway. Plus mega straight with high-speed kink on the east border. Scale it back to about 6 miles length and it looks fun.

I wanted to ay my homes state of Indiana, but then I noticed nobody said this one.

It's not an awful place, I just get tired of my neck of the woods(literally, I live in the middle of nowhere). The nearest walmart is a 20 minute drive on the highway. Haha.

Money wise it would have been better, isolation wise, not so much
